Dear Dr. Cornel West,
In regards to your recent engagement into the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election -your choice to run for this office has raised serious concerns amongst those of us who honor and appreciate you and your contribution to "Global Justice." But your continued presence in the position of Candidate for the Position of President of The United States definitely for most undermines the values or principles that you have built your reputation on first as an academic and secondly a leader that the Social Justice movement [organization or community] holds dear.
The opinion and position that I share with hundreds of Liberal minded folks is that; The people are horrified by the possibility–however unlikely–that Donald Trump will become the next President of the United States, but they do not seem to be so horrified at the prospect of Kamala Harris becoming U.S.President.
Sure, I as well as others can list specific reasons for the resignation request from you, -providing factual evidence where possible. For the record-A number of criticisms have circulated in recent months about your political platform, as well as the Green Party’s Jill Stein, which are not necessarily the same. But, both campaigns offer an "said," Alternative to Donald Trump. In Stein's case many believe for the third time she has been a definite hindrance to the U.S. Elections and most definitely an impossible "Long Shot," to say the least.
Sure, we can point out some of her positions that we disagree with, and for some people there will be a litmus test that Stein cannot pass-maybe you can pass the same "litmus test."-but you don't have to!
So many of us "liberals and independents believe -The public trust has been eroded, and the integrity of our community is at stake. For the sake of "Your Legacy" and our community (Also for historical footnote), -We urge you to step down from your position as Candidate for President of the United States within the next 24 Hours and Preserve your Legacy.
While you have every right and reason for running for this Highly Esteemed Office -It is with sincerity and a "Apolitical Agenda" -that we present this request to you. Please Step Down "Good" Brother-Dr. Cornel West.
